WHAT DOES EVERYBODY WANT? HEAD!

A lot of people say dumb shit, grow, and learn from their experiences. Very seldom few of those people stand by their silly remarks. DJ Khaled represents the latter after a 2015 Breakfast Club interview resurfaced, in which he explains why he does not prefer oral sex to satisfy women. 

The Cut’s writer, Madeleine Aggeler writes, “that he doesn’t perform oral sex on women because … he makes money, I guess?” Exactly how much money does one need to make annually in order to deny women the sexual satisfaction that one desires?

Oral & Sexual Equality

DJ Khaled says, “If you holding it down for your woman I feel like the woman should praise. And a man should praise the queen.” Since when does praise work one way? In order to create more balanced gender equality relationships, it is important to ‘praise’ your lover or in the case of Prince’s 1980 song, “Head,” lose them.

Try to praise your woman tonight and see where it takes you. When she gets off of work, praise her. After she wakes up in the morning, praise her. When she cooks or cleans, praise her. If she takes out the trash, praise her. If she does anything indicative of congratulations, then praise her. Oral sex can work wonders in relationships. 

DJ Khaled goes on to say, “But you know, my way of praising is called, ha-ha, ‘How was dinner?’, ‘You like the house you living in? You like all them clothes you getting?” At some point, there is a thin line between praise and payment for services rendered. Comments and ideologies like this make women seem less human and more as animated objects. It is time to rid ourselves of this way of thinking.

Archaic Taboo

As a youth growing up, it was taboo to eat women out. You were clowned if it was found out that you liked to go down. It lessened you as a man. Of course, things have changed over time and society is beginning to do away with gender norms and stereotypes. This archaic thinking has shifted from women as inactive members in sexual encounters to women being active recipients and participators in sex.

A few words of advice is that communication is key. If your lover does not “take great pride in mastering ALL performances” as the Rock tweeted, then it is time to have a very important conversation about oral sex.

One of the reasons that DJ Khaled probably dislikes going down on women is because he got too wet holding the umbrella for Fat Joe in the Make It Rain music video. DJ Khaled’s career has come a long way, maybe his taste for satisfying women will change too.
